Service Description
A full relaxer service for first-time chemical straightening, smoothing natural texture from root to tip for soft, manageable hair with lasting shine. Includes precise application, neutralising, deep conditioning, and a professional blow dry and press finish. Optional add-ons available. Please select Voluminous Hair if your hair is thick, very full, or extends past shoulder length. This allows adequate time and product to be allocated for a seamless, high-quality result. Service Notes & Hair Preparation • This service is for virgin or previously relaxed hair only, unless otherwise discussed during consultation. • A consultation is required to assess hair history, scalp health, and suitability for a relaxer service. • Clients must disclose all previous chemical treatments, including box dye, henna, keratin treatments, or texture releases. • Results may vary depending on hair texture, density, and prior chemical history. Salon Preparation / Hair Prep • Hair must be detangled, free from heavy oils, and in a suitable condition for the selected service unless otherwise advised. • Clients should disclose any scalp conditions, sensitives, or hair concerns prior to the appointment. • Relaxer services require a consultation and patch/strand test at least 48 hours prior to the appointment to assess scalp and hair suitability. • Hair must be clean and free from oils or heavy product build-up before the service. • Do not scratch, irritate, or shampoo the scalp for at least 96 hours (4 days) prior to your appointment to minimise sensitivity and reduce the risk of chemical burns. • Bond protection using Olaplex No.1 and K18 treatments is included to support hair strength and elasticity during processing. • Processing time may vary depending on hair texture, density, and condition. • Where colour enhancement is required, a gloss may be applied. Toners are not used with relaxer services. • After a relaxer, avoid tying the hair, applying products, or wetting the hair for at least 48 hours to allow the scalp and hair to stabilise.
Cancellation Policy
All appointments at Duchess Hair & Beauty Studio require a non-refundable booking fee to secure your appointment. • The booking fee will be deducted from your final service total on the day of your appointment • Appointments must be booked at least 48 hours in advance unless otherwise specified within the service description. • Clients may cancel or reschedule their appointment up to 48 hours before the scheduled start time • Late cancellations, no-shows, or missed appointments will result in forfeiture of the booking fee and may affect future bookings • Only one reschedule is permitted per booking fee Late Arrivals Please arrive on time for your appointment. Arrivals over 15 minutes late may result in a shortened service, rescheduling, or cancellation at the stylist’s discretion. Booking fees remain non-refundable.
